World Number 1 Tim Price Wins Luhmuhlen

Luhmuhlen Horse Trials in Germany is one of the six 5* eventing competitions in the world. The other 5 events at this level include Badminton and Burghley in the UK, Kentucky in the USA, Pau in France and Adelaide in Australia.

This year, Tim Price riding Ascona M won Luhmuhlen Horse Trials for the second time in his eventing career, having also won the competition in 2014 riding Wesko. Earlier in the month, New Zealand’s, Tim Price also took over the FEI World Eventing Athlete Rankings as World Number 1 with 557 points, having placed 3rd at Kentucky and 10th at Badminton.

This was an even special win for Tim as last year Jonelle Price, Tim’s wife won the Luhmuhlen trophy.

In an interview after Luhmuhlen Tim stated “I’m delighted. I know I had a few time-faults, but this mare jumped superbly on the final day, on what is her first five-star completion [having fallen in the water at her first five-star attempt at Pau last year]. It’s awesome for her owners, Ben and Lucy Sangster, Suzanne Houchin and Sir Peter Vela and it’s great to hold up the mantle for team Price.”
