Subjectivist Wins the Royal Ascot Gold Cup

Subjectivist and jockey Joe Fanning have won the Royal Ascot Gold Cup in spectacular style. After an impressive run in the Dubai Gold Cup last time out and a Group One winner in France before that Subjectivist took a three length lead and raced to victory.
The racehorse is trained by Mark Johnston. The Scotsman Mark Johnston, trains at Middleham in North Yorkshire with Gold Cup succsessed with Double Trigger in 1995 and Royal Rebel in 2001 and 2002.
Frankie Dettori and Stradavarius were lining up to emulate famous racehorse Yeats by winning a fourth consecutive gold cup however after struggling to find a gap and was closed in around the final bend with then too much ground to make up and Subjectivist was unstoppable.
Princess Zoe was second at 28-1, trained by Mullins who said after the race I’m as proud as punch. I’d say he’s a great champion.” Spanish Mission was third at 7-1.
Subjectivist was ridden by popular jockey Joe Fanning at 13-2. Joe Fanning was clapped and saluted back into the winners enclosure by his weighing room colleagues a huge honour for any jockey.
