Eventing Team GB win Olympic Gold
The eventing team GB have won team olympic gold with a total of 86.3 penalties which is the best team score in the history of the Olympics. For all three GB riders it is their first time at an Olympic and they have won the competition, bringing home the Gold medal for the first time in nearly 50 years.
All three GB riders are olympian debutes and have now won team gold.
Team Australia have the silver medal with 100.2 penalties and Team France have the bronze with 101.5 penalties.
For Eventing Team GB Oliver Townend riding horse Ballaghmor Class scored 23.6 dressage, went clear in the time cross country and had 1 pole down for 4 faults in the show jumping. Laura Collett and London 52 had a dressage score of 25.8, went clear in the time cross country and had 1 pole down for 4 faults in the show jumping. Tom McEwen and Toledo De Kerser scored 28.9 in the dressage and then went double clear in the time both cross country and show jumping.
All three team members are through to show jump again for individual placings.
