BBC World Sport Star title Nomanee

Record breaking jockey Rachael Blackmore has been nominated for the World Sport Star category at this years BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Rachael made history by becoming the first female jockey to be crowned leading jockey at the Cheltenham Festival with six winners over the week including the Champion Hurdle riding racehorse Honeysuckle. This year she was also the first female jockey to win the Aintree Grand National riidng Minella Times.
Rachael is nominated for the World Sport Star category amoungst some of the biggest names in sport including boxer Saul ‘Canelo’ Alverz, NFL quarterback Tom Brady, tennis star Novak Djokovic, sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah and newly crowned F1 racing driver world champion Max Verstappen.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Rachael Blackmore goes up against a list of global superstars in a bid to become the BBC World Sports Star of the Year. Her rivals have all achieved incredible things, but we think Blackmore comes out on top after she became the first female to win the Grand National.”
