Please read the entire advert as Hugo is very special and will not be going to just anybody.
Hugo is a beautiful shire/Hanoverian/mix of a type that is rare to find in this day and age. He is a stunning coloured gelding, solid as a tank but without the feathers of your standard large horse. Although he has not been measured recently he is easily above 17hh and has an amazing presence!
A change in circumstances means that my plans to educate Hugo are no longer viable. He was broken in at age 3, ridden out hacking a couple of times, and has since been in the field. He will need re-starting and he will need a very experienced and strong rider to reteach him all the basics. He has an incredibly lovely nature but he is still very much a baby and absolutely does not realise his size.
He will only be going to a home that has experience with educating youngsters and the ability and experience to handle a large horse. He is not aware of how big he is and although he has not got a malicious bone in his body he can sometimes be dangerous without even realising it.
He has had his feet trimmed but in recent months has started messing around with the farrier. Because of my health issues I am unable to make him co-operate and this is something he will need to re-learn. Other than slightly overgrown feet he has no health issues. He is passported and microchipped.
He will make someone an amazing allrounder and I had always planned a future together, however I simply do not have the ability to bring out the best in him and I am hoping the right person will guide him into being the amazing horse I know he can and will be.
