Top quality dressage Welsh Section D gelding 5yo 14.3hh for sale, lovely stamp with excellent movement. He is a bold, striking Welsh Sec D gelding. He has a very trainable attitude and has taken every stage of his ground and ridden work with ease. He is very respectful to handle on the ground, whilst maintaining the desirable traits of his breed. Darius was the outstanding winner scoring a perfect 10 for his dynamic trot and 10 for his uphill canter. His marks for walk and free jumping were also outstanding.
Darius II has been allowed to mature since he was bought as a three year old. He has been handled extensively in hand, and leads well from another horse. He has also done raised poles and a few small fences in hand, showing excellent shape over fences, would suit working hunters in future.
No health issues. Darius II is good to do in all ways. Superb conformation, leg in each corner with quality bone. A horse that has huge potential. He was shown very successfully as a 3 year old in hand and was a bronze medal winner in his first year.
He has been shown this season pulling some great places even in the open classes. He has had a ride judge on him and he behaved impeccably.
He is showing huge potential and is doing exceptionally well, even being pulled in 2nd at the Royal Cheshire Show out of a huge class of 30 horses. Everyone that meets him falls in love, he is a real eye catcher with, in the words of a Judge, one of the prettiest heads ever seen on a Welsh.
He has 3 balanced paces under saddle in the school and has popped a small fence under saddle showing willingness and a good athletic shape. He will jump when asked and is not phased by anything. Will hack out with other horses with no issues but will equally hack out alone.
He is snaffle mouthed, easy to stop and steer.
Darius would suit a loving family home, doing a mix of all activities. I believe he would excel at dressage, he also has excellent welsh breeding. He is a lovely unspoiled blank canvas, therefore needs a knowledgeable home to continue his education.
He is only for sale due to personal circumstances.
A very sad sale indeed and must go to a 5-star home. Will be sold with a brand new, fitted black country saddle and full wardrobe.
