Veuve De Bomonde (stable name Doris). She is a wonderful chestnut mare with a great heart. She has been with me for the past 8 years but has very sadly not got the potential or scope to take me to the levels I want to go.
There is nothing this mare hasn’t done. She is a fantastic hunter, hunts in a snaffle with no martingale, goes first or last (will walk behind a running field) jumps ditches, hedges stands to open/close gates and will lead a novice horse.
She has evented up to 1m although our dressage wasn’t great so stuck to SJ. She does enjoy XC and will jump xc course happily inc, water / ditches.
Veuve has been and is currently BS registered (421189) until February 2020. She’s currently has 181bs points and £397 in winnings. She qualified for the British Novice BS nationals last year.
She’s also been ridden for a short time under side saddle.
Veuve has super ground manners, is quiet and easy to handle in all ways. Good to box, shoe, teeth & clip – she’s not a fan of her head being done but with a twitch she’s fine. She does a mini squeal at at you when doing the girth up or getting on – there is no malice in this it’s just her being a chestnut mare voicing her opinion.
Veuve has no recorded breeding but she does have pacer in her. This doesn’t effect her ability in anyway except in dressage / showing. She will never flying change and rarely if ever paces anymore.
She’s a super, super horse who I’m selling with great reluctance. She’s as honest as they come, a truly loyal mare who tries her best for you. She’s only for sale as sadly she’s is not able to get me to higher levels of BS. She’s be better suited to sticking at unaff level.
She hacks alone perfectly or in company. Used to heavy traffic busses, lorries, roadworks, farm machinery, grazing livestock.
She’d be a great horse for a young teen coming off ponies or a mother daughter share, hunting life or a rider just wanting to have fun on at lower levels.
A good, kind, caring home is of the utmost important for this lovely horse, she’ll make the right person a dream horse.
