The Horse Exchange Goes to Badminton 2018

Monday, May 14, 2018

The Horse Exchange had a fantastic week at Badminton Horse Trials 2018.

The Badminton Estate is owned by the Duke of Beaufort and the first Badminton Horse Trials first was held in 1949. The beautiful grounds and house combined with the elite horses and riders that compete make Badminton Horse Trials the most prestigious horse event in the world.

The horse trials is made up of 2 days of dressage, cross country on the third day and then show jumping on the last day of competition. The horses and riders need to be skilled enough to ride an advanced dressage test, fit and brave enough to jump at speed across the country and then bold enough to showjump around a course of show jumps.

Badminton Horse Trails attracts large crowds to browse and shop amongst the trade stands whilst watching and supporting horses and riders.

This year was particularly exciting as Oliver Townend had just won the Kentucky 4* and was on form to win the Rolex Grandslam... had it not been for Jonnelle Price and Classic Moet who rode a fearless double clear to win the title - being the first female in 11 years to win the event. A fantastic achievement.
